This beautiful painting by Nacho Reina is a formidable example of the interplay between form and color forms as the central axis of his work, where he starts from architectural shapes as a pretext to present chromatic contrasts in their various expressions, using contemporary and vibrant palettes. Nacho’s compositions, with large shapes that appear to be monochromatic at first glance, may initially recall graphic techniques such as screen printing. However, he goes further by introducing striped texture patterns with endless shades, resulting in vibrant atmospheres inspired by the use of color seen in 19th-century French Impressionist painting.

BIO

Nacho Reina (Seville, 1985) is a Spanish artist based in Madrid. In his recent work, he draws directly from architectural principles to construct minimalist compositions that investigate space, volume, and surface. Each work, executed in acrylic and colored pencil on paper, evokes structural forms—walls, corners, roofs, and facades—reduced to their geometric essence. Through precise planes and bold angles, Reina translates the logic of built environments into abstract configurations.

The result is a body of work that treats painting as a spatial discipline, where form and surface are meticulously balanced, and each painting reflects a studied interplay between color and structure, inviting viewers to consider how space can be defined and reimagined through abstraction.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Care instructions

Since cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic prints known, they must be stored properly. Cyanotypes involve an intricate process with light-sensitive chemicals and high-quality papers to get the best image quality possible, so they are very different to regular inkjet prints.

Although image quality is quite stable, there may be some fading if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, and placed in extremely humid or acidic environments. For your print to last a lifetime, which it can, it would be best to put it in a glass or plastic frame, and try to keep it indoors, away from direct UV light- indirect light is fine! If you have any more questions, please ask!

    Wholesale availability

We offer discounts for the purchase of multiple prints, whether it be the same image or a series of images. Please contact us for specific details about your order.

Remember that each cyanotype print is unique, since they are all hand-made and exposed in direct sunlight, so there may be subtle variations in tone and texture. When expecting multiple prints of the same image, don't expect them to all be exactly the same, there may be small variations- that's the beauty!

    Tracking number for shipments

We send all our art prints and paintings with expedited shipping, which arrives in less than a week with tracking info.

    Framing

All items are shipped unframed, carefully rolled in a tube.

A lot of people like to float-frame our cyanotypes and paintings, since the borders where the emulsion is applied are very interesting, but some people also like to matte the pieces so that they look bigger. If you're interested in a diptych or triptych we recommend framing them to the edge of the paper, that way they can be displayed relatively close together and will suggest continuity between the individual pieces.

We generally suggest thin frames, either white aluminum or a mild or light wood-plated aluminum. UV-protection or museum glass is also recommended.
