This is a beautiful painting by Alberto de Blobs (Barcleona, 1982). Alberto is a talented painter whose elaborate mixture of figurative and free form abstraction create a highly illustrative visual language that combines references to his subcultural roots and art historical predecessors alike and with ease.

Muralist, illustrator, and multidisciplinary creator, Alberto de Blobs includes multiple art historical references in his work - from the modernist cutouts of Matisse, to the surrealist forms of Miró, passing through the sculptural still lives of Morandi and the expressive gestures of Cy Twomby.

Merging all types of influences, genres and styles, de Blobs forged a brilliant outlook on creativity which is presented through his search for new experiences. This newly-made reality escapes all conventions and breaks free from links to any particular aesthetic trend.

Sprung from the depths of his subconscious, his characters emerge deformed and twisted, reflecting the soul of the artist. Dreamscapes, clumsy people, not always human-like figures, crowded scenes, open skies, and various other subjects are represented through the unique vision of de Blobs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Care instructions

Since cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic prints known, they must be stored properly. Cyanotypes involve an intricate process with light-sensitive chemicals and high-quality papers to get the best image quality possible, so they are very different to regular inkjet prints.

Although image quality is quite stable, there may be some fading if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, and placed in extremely humid or acidic environments. For your print to last a lifetime, which it can, it would be best to put it in a glass or plastic frame, and try to keep it indoors, away from direct UV light- indirect light is fine! If you have any more questions, please ask!

    Wholesale availability

We offer discounts for the purchase of multiple prints, whether it be the same image or a series of images. Please contact us for specific details about your order.

Remember that each cyanotype print is unique, since they are all hand-made and exposed in direct sunlight, so there may be subtle variations in tone and texture. When expecting multiple prints of the same image, don't expect them to all be exactly the same, there may be small variations- that's the beauty!

    Tracking number for shipments

We send all our art prints and paintings with expedited shipping, which arrives in less than a week with tracking info.

    Framing

All items are shipped unframed, carefully rolled in a tube.

A lot of people like to float-frame our cyanotypes and paintings, since the borders where the emulsion is applied are very interesting, but some people also like to matte the pieces so that they look bigger. If you're interested in a diptych or triptych we recommend framing them to the edge of the paper, that way they can be displayed relatively close together and will suggest continuity between the individual pieces.

We generally suggest thin frames, either white aluminum or a mild or light wood-plated aluminum. UV-protection or museum glass is also recommended.
